This is the rank system for Iwagakure. It is very similar to the other shinobi villages, but one or two differences are essential.
Genin- Genin are the lower shinobi of the village; the ones to do all the low ranking D-Ranked missions. They are placed under the command of a Jounin sensei and have two team mates that are also Genin once they graduate from the Academy.
Chuunin- Chuunin are the middle ninja of the village and usually do missions solo, as well as leading their own team in many cases. They can also become Academy Teachers and pass on skills to the younger generation.
Jounin- Jounin are the higher class shinobi of the village and are highly respected/ depended upon. They are leaders of their own teams of three Genin, and go on missions with them usually. It is also common to find lone Jounin that go on missions with other shinobi of their rank of B or A-Rank difficulty.
Special Jounin- Special Jounin are used for different purposes throughout the village. They too are highly respected shinobi, and have better skills than Jounin, but they are used mainly for special jobs in the village. Things such as the interrogation unit is consisted of Special Jounin.
SHABUDA- The SHABUDA are ninja like the ANBU for Konoha, or Hunter Ninja for Kirigakure. They go out on high-ranking missions and are renowed for their skills in mainly assassination.
Tsuchikage- The Kage of any village means that they make the important decisions and run the village in the way they see nessecary. They are the best shinobi in the entire village and are of the S-Rank standard, perhaps higher in many cases. The Tsuchikage rules usually with a 'rock fist', or in other words very powerfully.
